A Unique Mission
We at MSA-PSG believe MATIN Talks Local (MTL) can create the perfect opportunity to address the needs of Muslim communities. MTL is a platform for intergenerational exchange of ideas and experiences, which we hope will effectively aid in building better communal relationships for all members and most importantly for our youth. We hope to increase community involvement both at the local and national level whilst strategically preparing the grounds to take on our inherent Islamic responsibilities as Muslims in the west.
- Deepen, diversify, and broaden collaborations between local Islamic centers.
- Support under-resourced communities to fundraise through the MTL event.
- Invite communities to the annual Muslim Student Association-PSG national.
- Increase Muslim youth active participation in local Islamic communities to identify their needs.
- Support intergenerational participatory initiatives promoting youth empowerment, leadership development, and engagement by creating opportunities for growth.
- Build and train Muslim local community organizers.
MATIN Talks Local (MTL) aims to engage Muslim active thinking by creating a platform in their communities for youth to share their ideas through 12-minute short talks. In support of this mission, MTL is designed to achieve the shown short-term and long-term objectives as established by the MSA-PSG.
LOCAL LOCATIONS
MATIN Talks Local events are only made possible by volunteers like you. You can either become an organizer for an MTL or choose to volunteer as an assistant to an organizer. Information regarding the process of setting up an MTL is available on the “Organize a MATIN Talks Local” section of our website. There you will find an interest form that you can submit with your information. Once submitted, we will get back to you within 72 hours with an MTL handbook containing all the details you need to help you plan your event.
